Groundbreaking Blessing Ceremony

August 04, 2025 — The temple held a groundbreaking blessing ceremony to purify the new parking lot, promote safety, dispel negative energy, and invite good spirits to protect the space. Such blessings are traditionally performed when a new structure is built or when someone moves into a new place, ensuring the area is spiritually cleansed and safeguarded.

During the ceremony, lustral water is typically sprinkled over the space and participants, while incense and candles are lit. The monk led the ritual by chanting prayers and reciting mantras. Protective amulets may also be placed around the area or at the entrance to safeguard the space.

On the 14th day of the waning moon of the ninth month of the Buddhist calendar, all Laotians annually celebrate the feast of Ho Khao Padabdine, the “Day of the Dead.” That day, the Buddhists donate to the dead in the form of food delivered to them symbolically through the monks.

We are currently seeking a kind and dedicated volunteer to assist with our temple’s activities. To learn more about availability. Click the button below.
